Integrate Stable Management and Customer Service with Horse Farm Software, by Marie Taulbee

Marie Taulbee has spent a lot of time and energy on developing LaRaedo. LaRaedo is horse farm management software that makes it easier to stay in touch with your clients, and easier for your clients to find out what's going on with their horse. She shares some insight into the software with us. Thanks Marie!

What happens at your barn when you take a vacation (if you get to take a vacation that is)?  Or heaven forbid, what if you were to get laid up for a while and someone else had to jump in and take over?  Would they know what to do and where to go to find out who does what, when and where?

What if all you had to do is give them access to an online account that would provide information about each horse, their maintenance history, owner contact information and every other detail?  Hey, what if they could even find out whose invoices were paid, who still owed, and how to send a reminder?  And what if they could just stroll on over to the calendar menu to see who was giving lessons, when, and who had signed up?

Guess what - it’s time to celebrate! There is such a tool and it’s called LaRaedo.  LaRaedo is web-based horse farm management software that allows you to track expenses, send invoices, manage your horse records, provide regular equine progress reports to your clients, and more. It also gives your clients an easy way to track the progress of their horse, at any time, 24/7.

Every barn owner that I’ve talked to has told me about the number of phone calls they get from clients wanting to know why they are being charged for this or for that. These calls take precious time out of their day.  Yet the calls become non-existent when you use LaRaedo because each boarder knows exactly what they will be billed for BEFORE they even get their invoice. It’s all tracked so they will see any billable work pertaining to their horse, for lessons, training, anything and everything, no surprise....and no frantic phone calls. This is just one of the benefits of this technology.

From your boarder’s perspective, they have access through a LaRaedo account that gives them the full enchilada. They have their own special view that shows their horse maintenance history, ability to upload photos and documents, send and receive notes, update their personal profile and their horse’s, and view each and every invoice and payment status. On top of that they can use the calendar to view, edit and create calendar events. And they do this at the time that is convenient to them even if that’s 2AM. But what if a boarder leaves for awhile? It’s no big deal. Just one click and they no longer have account access; click again when they return and all their horse maintenance is there just as they left it.

What else? Let’s say that the farrier is coming out tomorrow and you need a quick count of who wants their horse worked on. Easy, peezy ... click and send everyone an Alert Message, all at once, right to their email, no one gets overlooked. More responses, more cash in your pocket.  Same goes for veterinarian, dental, chiropractor, you name it - a quick ‘Who’s interested in XYZ work?’  Sign them up or they can add themselves to the calendar event that you created. Then track it and bill it.

The Alert Message has other applications too. We all know the dollars lost every time a client ‘forgets’ their lesson. Lesson no-show days are minimized with LaRaedo since sending reminders is simple and just a click away ... ‘A shout out to YOU my client, don’t forget your lesson tonight at 8PM’. No more cork boards with flyers that always end up on the ground or smudgy white boards that you can barely read, let alone erase. Lesson folks have a more limited account access view since they don’t have a horse and don’t need the same depth of access.  They are able to take advantage of the calendar, receive and send message alerts, and view their invoices (paid and outstanding).

Your staff, trainer, vet, farrier....anyone YOU want can have an account and use the calendar feature and connect with clients. This makes your work much easier when you can share it among the troops (so to speak).  In turn this creates happier clients because they know how well you are caring for their horse.

When all is said and done, your clients are part of the team that make your barn shine.  If not for them, you’d be out of business. So why not give them something to talk about at the next horse show - YOU and what a great service you provide them with LaRaedo.

Let us help you grow your business. Any software issues come to us, not you.  We have a handy, dandy little ‘Support’ button your clients and users can click and WE, not YOU, come to the rescue. Think of it like this: with LaRaedo you have a software application for them with a mini Help Desk. This allows you to stay focused on what you do best - run a fabulous horse business!

These examples are just the beginning of all the bells and whistles this product offers to you AND your clients too!  And here’s a helpful suggestion - your customers use this product ... maybe a usage fee?  If my barn owner had a product like this when I was boarding my horse, I would gladly have paid extra to use it. So the next time you walk down the aisle of your barn and think, geesh, I wish there was a tool that would bring me More Boarders. More Profit. More Freedom. .... know that there is and it’s called LaRaedo.

For your very own free 15 day trial of LaRaedo, check out www.laraedo.com. Questions or comments are just a click away.  We are here to help you create the horse barn business of your dreams.  Need help getting started?  Webinars, Skype, Videos and User Guides are available to your rescue, or simply give us a call at 248-946-1245.

Happy Trails to you and yours - with great appreciation from the LaRaedo Team.

Testimonials

“As program coordinator for a two-year project in New Hampshire, I was responsible with identifying and securing consultants who could assist beginner farmers with developing a business plan for their Agricultural enterprise. This required consultants to have proven business development skills, an understanding of small-scale farms and the ability to mentor as well as consult individuals.

Lisa far exceeded these skills and did so with top-notch professionalism and knowledge. She brought to each business owner a strong background in agriculture and business allowing the farmer to develop a plan they could implement with confidence.

Lisa kept me informed at all times during the project with detailed and pertinent feedback. She was a pleasure to work with and I look forward to the opportunity to do so again. I would recommend Lisa to any business owner, whether they are a start-up or well established, who may be seeking assistance with their business development.”
